The Story Behind the New General
Sun Wu, a native of Qi in the late Spring and Autumn period, was a famed strategist. His Thirteen Chapters on the Art of War led Wu Zixu to recommend him to the King of Wu.
To test his command, the king ordered him to drill palace maids. When repeated orders failed, Sun executed the king’s favored concubine, who led the maids. The women fell into strict discipline, and though grieved, the king was convinced of Sun’s ability and made him general.
Under his training, Wu’s army grew powerful enough to confront mighty Chu. When Chu struck at Wu’s vassals, Sun urged striking directly into Chu’s heartland rather than facing their armies head-on. His raids pierced deep, and at Boju he crushed Chu’s main force. The king of Chu fled his capital, and the long-dominant state collapsed in a single campaign.
Though Sun Wu earned victories that shook Chu, Qi, and Jin, it was his Art of War that made his name eternal. The treatise shaped Chinese, East Asian, and even world military thought, extending its influence into politics, business, and beyond.

Academy Officer Duty Buffs
There are 5 levels for each duty position. The higher the level, the greater the benefits. To increase the level, your Academy Duty General’s basic attributes must reach a certain value.
The duty requirements and bonus effects of these 5 levels are as follows.

- Duty requirements: general politics 500 and leadership 450
- Duty benefit: research speed +5%
- Medium Academy Officer
- Duty requirements: general politics 850 and leadership 800
- Duty benefits: research speed +10%

- Duty requirements: general politics 1,150 and leadership 1,100
- Duty benefits: research speed +15%
- Special Academy Officer
- Duty requirements: general politics 1,250, leadership 1,200, and power 3,100,000
- Duty benefits: research speed +25%
- Super Academy Officer
- Duty requirements: general politics 1,400, leadership 1,400, and power 3,100,000

The Way to Unlock Sun Wu
Use Sun Wu’s exclusive general token to unlock the general.
- King’s Party Event
The token can be obtained at the King’s Party event during the Evony 2025 Autumn Ceremony.
First, you need to purchase basic gems to upgrade your party cake. The basic gems mentioned here don’t just refer to buying gems directly; you can also purchase packages to receive gems. You can click the gem slot in the upper right corner to enter the Store to view the holiday gift packs and common packs currently on sale. Besides, you can purchase specific packages within the interface of each special event.
Then, you can claim rewards, including Sun Wu’s general token, when your cake reaches Lv10.

Eulji Mundeok offers the best boost to research speed among the three generals and can be used when upgrading technology is needed.
Hammurabi offers a good bonus to in-city troops and is suitable for defensive players.
Sun Wu is a better general for offensive players than the other two. He not only has numerous offensive buffs, but also debuffs against enemy defenders and a small boost to rally and march size capacity.
