Evony’s new general, Kiso Yoshinaka, was a legendary commander of the Genpei War in history. Now, he is a good siege machine general in the game who is released with the 2025 Autumn Ceremony events. This guide will analyze his buffs and give you advice on how to obtain and pair the general.
Early Life and Rise of a Warrior
Kiso Yoshinaka, a young Minamoto orphan raised in Kiso Valley, grew up gathering loyal warriors and preparing for battle.
During the Genpei War, he avoided direct clashes with the Taira, instead striking supply lines and harassing their rear through daring mountain raids.
At the decisive Battle of Kurikara Gorge, he tricked the enemy with banners, split his forces to block escape, and unleashed fire oxen at night, throwing 70,000 Taira soldiers into chaos—only 2,000 survived.
Yoshinaka entered Kyoto as “Asahi Shogun,” celebrated for clever strategies and victories against the odds. Though later killed in a Minamoto civil war, his tragic farewell with the female warrior Tomoe Gozen cemented his legend as a heroic and sorrowful figure.

Asahi Shogun – Increases siege machines’ attack and defense by 55% and siege machines’ HP by 40% when Kiso Yoshinaka is leading the army to attack.

Each covenant attribute requires covenant stones to unlock. Once unlocked, you must also increase the total basic attributes of Kiso Yoshinaka and the three covenanted generals mentioned above to activate the corresponding buff(s).
