Roland’s Story
Roland was a paladin of France, loyal to Charlemagne. Armed with the sword Durandal and his Oliphant horn, he was devoted to both the king and his faith. He fought bravely, leading French troops to safety. He ultimately met his heroic end at Roncevaux Pass, where he became a symbol of courage and chivalry.
